Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide care according to individualized care plans and help identify resident needs. The role supports a safe, respectful environment for residents, families, and staff.

You will monitor care, document care activities, attend training sessions, and assist in onboarding new staff while adhering to IPAC standards and ensuring high-quality geriatric care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of PSW certificate/ diploma program.
• Meet vocational standards by MTCU.
• Meet NAC standards.
• Meet Ontario Community Support Association standards.
• Knowledge of basic procedures for simple treatments and bedside care.
• Understand sanitation basics and geriatric resident needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor care to ensure it aligns with the care plan by observing residents and reporting findings.
• Document information pertaining to resident care as directed.
• Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
• Participate in onboarding of new staff as directed.
• Follow IPAC policies and procedures.

Work Location: Address: FTE: Employment Type: The Opportunity The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in the identification of resident needs. The PSW assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members.

What You Will Do

• Assists in the monitoring of care given to residents ensuring it is in accordance with the established plan of care by observing residents and reporting findings to immediate supervisor.
• Assists in the documentation of information pertaining to the care of residents as directed.
• Attends in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops as directed.
• Assists in the onboarding of new staff as directed.
• Must follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.

What You Bring

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meet the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents.
• Must understand the basics of good sanitation and cleaning techniques and be knowledgeable with respect to the needs of geriatric residents.

Salary

Salary: $27.46 per hour Salary placement based on qualifications and experience.

Canadian work experience is not required.
