Total compensation ranges from $24 to $28 per hour, including travel and applicable premiums.

Job Description

Personal Support Workers play a pivotal role in our healthcare system. At Spectrum Health Care, they work closely with patients and their families, providing personal care and support with activities of daily living. The care provided ensures patients can recover safely from acute illnesses or remain in their homes throughout aging.

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, skincare, light meal preparation, feeding, etc.) in residences or facilities.
• Assess, anticipate, identify, and respond to the changing needs of patients and communicate available resources.
• Perform delegated tasks under the supervision of a Home Support Supervisor.
• Travel within the region between patients’ residences or facilities is required.

Qualifications

• Have one of the following qualifications:
  • Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a recognized Ministry or approved program.
  • RN/RPN student with at least one year of completed coursework.
  • Internationally licensed nurse, midwife, or physician.
• G2/G license with access to a vehicle.
• Physical ability to meet job demands (e.g., standing, bending, walking, crouching, kneeling, reaching, lifting 23 kg independently, assisting clients).
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer service.
• Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certifications.
• Updated immunization record including TB test within the last 6 months.
• Proficient in verbal and written English; additional languages are an asset.
