Job summary

Spectrum Health Care (SHC) is seeking caregivers to support patients in home care and visiting care settings across multiple locations in Ontario. The role involves direct patient assistance, comfort, and personal care in patients' homes and nursing facilities.

Full-time on-site positions with the possibility of relocation within the province. Certification in First Aid, CPR, and a Personal Support Worker credential are encouraged for applicants who are dedicated to compassionate, high-quality

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English is required.
• First Aid Certificate and CPR recommended.
• Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities
• Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort
• Perform other duties related to personal care
• Supply and empty bed pans
• Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse
• Serve meal trays and feed patients
• Weigh, lift and position patients
• Make beds and maintain patients' rooms
• Maintain inventory of supplies
• Bathe, dress and groom patients
• Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
• Administer first aid in emergency situations
• Provide personal care
• Provide companionship
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Launder clothing and household linens
• Administer bedside and personal care
• Feed or assist in feeding
• Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
