Job summary

CBI Home Health is seeking Personal Support Workers to assist clients in Hawkesbury and the Prescott Russell area with in-home care, promoting safety and independence. You will provide personal care, assist with mobility, and perform light housekeeping as outlined in care plans.

We offer flexible scheduling between 6 am and 11 pm, weekend commitments, and a comprehensive benefits package. Eligible PSWs may access incentive programs and loan forgiveness for rural/remote communities, with training

Qualifications

• PSW Certificate or equivalent required.
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening in last 12 months.
• Proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and up-to-date immunization record.
• Ability to travel from home to home within the community.
• Commitment to work every other weekend, minimum 5 hours both Saturday and Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients in their homes.
• Assist clients in mobilizing and perform light exercises.
• Observe, document, and report changes to Manager/Supervisor.
• May perform light housekeeping as indicated in care plans.

Compensation Range:

The hourly rate range for this position is $22.89 to $25.28 per hour.

What You Will Do

As a caring and responsible healthcare team member, you will support clients in maintaining their safety and independence in their homes, helping them to live their best lives. You will provide personal care to clients in their home, and may assist them in mobilizing and perform light exercises. You will act at all times with the client and their family at the heart of all you do, observing, documenting, and reporting any changes in their condition to your Manager/Supervisor. You may be required to perform light housekeeping tasks as indicated in client care plans.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

• Your Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent
  • Home Support Worker Level I, II or III, Health Care Aid, Personal Attendant (PA+2), Developmental Support Worker, OTA/PTA, Paramedic
  • Internationally Trained Registered Nurse/ Registered Practical Nurse (RN/ RPN), Midwife or Physicians
  • Students currently enrolled post-1st year in Nursing, Rehab, Medicine or Paramedicine programs
  • Equivalencies:
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 12 months
• Proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and an up-to-date immunization record
• Ability to travel from home to home within the community
• Commitment to work every other weekend, minimum 5 hours both Saturday and Sunday
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills required; the ability to communicate in French or other languages is considered an asset
• Reliability and strong organizational skills
• Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg)
