Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in Markham is seeking a Part Time Casual Personal Support Worker to provide compassionate personal care to older adults across our geriatric programs. The role emphasizes resident-centered care, safety, and adherence to professional standards while supporting daily activities and personal hygiene.

The ideal candidate will have an Ontario PSW certificate, CPR, and registration with HSCPOA preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario.
• Experience in long term care setting is an asset.
• CPR Certificate is required.
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; resident-centred care focus.

Through this comprehensive network, the organization serves more than 15,000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support the clients' physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights and the organizations mission and philosophy. **Qualifications*** Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent* Experience in long term care setting an asset* Current CPR Certificate* Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.* Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills* Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage* Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player* Behavioural management training (Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), U-First, CPI) an asset* Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office).
