AgeCare Ltd. in Scarborough is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide compassionate resident care according to individualized care plans and to help maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

The position is part-time (0.40 FTE) with regular hours, offering competitive pay of CAN$26.00 per hour, health benefits, paid time off, and opportunities for training and advancement within a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meets the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meets the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meets the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
• Knowledge of bedside care procedures and related sanitation.
• Understanding sanitation and elder care needs.

Responsibilities

• Assists in monitoring resident care per plan and reports findings to the supervisor.
• Documents information about resident care as directed.
• Attends in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
• Assists in onboarding of new staff as directed.
• Follows IPAC policies and procedures.

Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Work Location: AgeCare Trilogy Address: 340 McCowan Rd., Scarborough, ON, M1J 3P4. FTE: 0.40. Employment Type: Regular, Part-time.

The Opportunity

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in the identification of resident needs. The PSW assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members.

What You Will Do

• Assists in the monitoring of care given to residents ensuring it is in accordance with the established plan of care by observing residents and reporting findings to the immediate supervisor.
• Assists in the documentation of information pertaining to the care of residents as directed.
• Attends in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops as directed.
• Assists in the onboarding of new staff as directed.
• Follows IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.

What You Bring

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meets the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.

• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents.
• Understands the basics of good sanitation and cleaning techniques and is knowledgeable with respect to the needs of geriatric residents.
