AgeCare in Oakville, Ontario is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide compassionate care to residents according to care plans and to assist in maintaining a safe, respectful environment for residents and staff.

You will monitor care, document resident information, participate in in-service education, onboard new staff, and uphold IPAC policies. Salary: CAD 26.64 per hour with benefits and opportunities for growth. Join a diverse, supportive team dedicated to aging with dignity.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meet vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care; sanitation basics; knowledge of geriatric resident needs.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in the identification of resident needs. The PSW assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members.

What You Will Do

• Assists in the monitoring of care given to residents ensuring it is in accordance with the established plan of care by observing residents and reporting findings to immediate supervisor.
• Assists in the documentation of information pertaining to the care of residents as directed.
• Attends in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops as directed.
• Assists in the onboarding of new staff as directed.
• Must follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.
