Job summary

ParaMed is seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our home and community care team in Ottawa. You will support patients with daily living activities, promote independence, and help them stay comfortable in their homes.

You will provide ADL assistance, light housekeeping, meals, and companionship, while following care plans and maintaining dignity. A valid PSW certificate and a valid driver's license are required, with travel across the area.

Qualifications

• Valid PSW certificate and ability to interact with patients with care and empathy.
• Reliability and flexibility to travel within defined geographical area.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Screen community background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including skin, hair, and oral care; bathing, toileting, and peri-care.
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks per care plan, including special diets.
• Provide basic housekeeping and companionship to improve quality of life.

Job Description As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) you will be an integral part of the home and community care team. You will support, encourage and provide independence for patients in their homes and community settings by assisting with activities of daily living.

Rate: up to $21.97/visit

Mileage: $0.45/Km + Paid Time Travel

What you’ll do:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including skin, hair, and oral care along with bathing, toileting, & peri‑care
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, including special diets, as determined by the care plan
• Provide basic housekeeping tasks and companionship to help your patients enjoy a better quality of life

• Ability to demonstrate compassion and care when interacting with patients
