Job summary

St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre in Cornwall, Ontario is seeking a Personal Support Worker to provide compassionate daily care to residents in a welcoming, state-of-the-art facility.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and meals, support mobility, encourage participation in social activities, and contribute to dementia care within a respectful, team-based setting. Qualifications

Your Day-to-Day

• Assist residents with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation)
• Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a positive environment
• Maintain cleanliness in resident rooms and common areas to ensure safety and hygiene
• Support residents with mobility and encourage participation in social activities
• Monitor residents’ health and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Provide specialized care to residents with dementia using appropriate techniques
• Collaborate with team members to deliver holistic, individualized care

What You Bring to the Team

• Previous experience in caregiving, senior care, or related fields preferred
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols is considered an asset
• Compassionate, resident-focused approach with respect for dignity and privacy
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and perform safe lifting/moving of residents
• Commitment to maintaining clean and organized living spaces
• Experience working with persons with disabilities is highly desirable
