Position: Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Location: 299 Randall St, Oakville, ON, L6J 6B4

Compensation: 17.60-19.25 Hourly

Job Type: Casual On‑call | Onsite

Your Day to Day :

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) at Amenida Senior Community, you will play a vital role in supporting the comfort, dignity, and well‑being of our residents. You’ll work closely with the care team to deliver personalized care, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to a safe, respectful, and vibrant living environment.

Resident Care & Daily Living Support :

Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility.

Provide support with basic care needs as outlined in care plans, including medication reminders if applicable.

Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, or needs to the supervisor or healthcare team.

Emotional & Social Support :

Foster companionship and emotional comfort through positive interactions.

Encourage engagement and participation in daily routines and activities.

Safety & Cleanliness :

Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents.

Adhere to all health and safety protocols and follow organizational policies and procedures.

Documentation & Communication :

Accurately document all care provided in a timely manner, maintaining resident confidentiality.

Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistent and high‑quality care.

What You Bring to the Table :

To thrive as a PSW at Amenida, you must demonstrate compassion, responsibility, and a deep respect for the seniors in our care community.

Education & Certification :

Completion of a recognized and accredited Personal Support Worker program.

Valid PSW certification in Ontario (or applicable province).

Completion of a WHMIS course.

Successful criminal background check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening, prior to hire.

Experience :

At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare, long‑term care, or supportive living environment is preferred.

Skills & Abilities :

Compassionate and patient, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical ability to assist with lifting, mobility, and personal care tasks.

Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Reliable, detail‑oriented, and able to maintain professional boundaries.
