Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Personal Support Worker for a permanent full-time night shift at Aspira Island Park, Campbellford, ON. The role offers a rate of pay aligned with the collective agreement and a schedule from 11pm to 7am across alternating weeks.

You will work within the Long Term Care team, forming meaningful connections with residents and families, delivering daily living support, and contributing to a culture of dignity and respect.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Personal Support Worker program from an approved college or private institution.
• Compassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and assistance with activities of daily living (eating, dressing, hygiene, grooming) according to individualized care plans.
• Aid residents with communication and ensuring access to mobility/assistive devices.
• With training, administer specific medications under supervision of a registered health professional.
• Support resident comfort and well-being, including social, emotional, and spiritual care.

What You’ll Be Doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Personal Support Worker, you’ll form a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience. You will build relationships with the residents and their family members, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

Provide Resident Supervision and Assistance

• support residents with their activities of daily living including eating, dressing, hygiene and grooming as per residents’ individual plans of care

Provide Resident Care and Services

• aid residents with respect to their communication and connections by encouraging them to wear individual sensory aids such as glasses, hearing aides, etc.
• With additional prescribed training, administer specific medication to residents under the supervision of a registered health professional
• Ensure residents have constant and easy access to mobility or assistive devices such as canes, walkers, call bells, etc.

Support Resident Comfort & Well-being

• provide ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support; as well as oral and dental care
• encourage residents to participate in programs offered by the Resident Experience Team, whether individual or in groups

Who You Are:

• You are compassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors in living life fully
• You have completed a Personal Support Worker program from an approved college or private institution.
• You are detailed-oriented and proficient in procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatment and can provide bedside care to residents
• You exercise tact and diplomacy in working with seniors, their families and general visitors
