Job summary

Hire Ontario seeks compassionate caregivers to assist clients in Barrie, Ontario. The role focuses on companionship, helping with daily living activities, self-care, and transportation to appointments. You will support and execute individualized care plans while maintaining open communication with families and care teams.

Candidates with home care or retirement home experience are preferred. Certification in First Aid/CPR-AED is a plus. Shifts include day, evening, night, holidays, and overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience in home care or retirement home preferred.
• Ability to follow a care plan and document client status.
• First Aid/CPR-AED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and provide companionship.
• Self-care activities like washing, dressing, and grooming.
• Set appointments, run errands and grocery shop.
• Provide transportation to appointments as needed.
• Carry out the client’s care plan and monitor wellbeing.
• Inform coordinator of any changes in client status.
• Maintain positive relations with clients and families.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Assist with activities of daily living and provide Companionship
• Self-care activities like washing, dressing, and grooming
• Setting appointments, running errands and grocery shopping
• Accompanying and providing transportation to appointments
• In charge of carrying out the care plan for the clients
• Tracking client well-being and informing the program coordinator of any changes
• Keep up good relations with clients and their families.
