Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking caring Personal Support Workers to join our home and community health care team in Tillsonburg, ON and surrounding areas. Shifts include 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, Monday to Friday with every other weekend.

Provide compassionate personal care per care plans and support clients’ daily needs. Ideal candidates hold a PSW diploma, have excellent English communication, a valid driver's license, and are adaptable to flexible schedules.

Qualifications

  • PSW diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication in English; French may be required for Quebec positions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care per established care plan and ensure client comfort and safety.
  • Perform duties within provincial PSW scope, including bathing, feeding, mobility, and basic wound care.
  • Observe and document client conditions; report changes to supervisor.
  • Maintain infection prevention practices and ensure confidentiality of client information.

Tillsonburg, ON, and surrounding areas. We are currently hiring for the following shifts:

  • 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Monday to Friday, every other weekend)
  • 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Monday to Friday, every other weekend)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care service according to directions on the established care plan or assignment sheet, and ensure that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent.
  • Provide personal care that is within the provincial scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker; duties may include skin care, hair care, mouth care, bathing, bowel and bladder care, positioning and movement, exercise, basic wound care, feeding including special diets, and assistance with oxygen administration and medication reminder.
  • Perform specialized, client specific procedures for which recognized training and current competency can be demonstrated.
  • Observe and document client conditions according to company standards; report unusual events or changes in the client’s condition to the immediate Supervisor or to the Office.
  • Understands and implements infection prevention practices.
  • Competence in Samsung or Android device use and functionality, enter accurate data.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the electronic information, securing Samsung or Android device and use of password.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
  • Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
  • Complete other tasks as requested.

Education
  • Personal Support Worker diploma or equivalent (evidence required).
Attributes
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable vehicle are required for this role.
  • Excellent communication skill with fluency in written and spoken English
  • French proficiency required for positions located within Quebec or where French language is a service requirement
Successful candidates who are offered a position will be required to provide
  • 2 professional references,
  • A clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
  • Proof of being negative for TB.
