Job summary

A well-established MGA in Ottawa is seeking an experienced personal lines underwriter for a remote role. The ideal candidate is a bilingual insurance professional with at least 2 years of experience in personal lines underwriting. This opportunity offers a competitive salary of $60,000 to $75,000 and generous benefits including education support and growth opportunities. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Our well-established MGA client is looking to expand their team in Ottawa and is currently seeking an experienced personal lines underwriter to join their team in a remote role. If you’re a bilingual insurance professional with personal lines underwriting experience, this could be a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a growing organization.

Important Note For Applicants : The ideal candidate should be based in the Ottawa area ,as the company intends to open an office in the city, after which this role will be in-office 2 days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Underwrite and service Personal Lines and Marine business with a focus on growth and retention
  • Build, develop, and maintain strong working relationships with broker partners
  • Communicate effectively and respond confidently to broker inquiries
  • Resolve broker issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Exercise sound judgment and make operational decisions within the assigned authority level
Qualifications
  • Fluency in both French and English is required for this role
  • Minimum 2 years of personal lines underwriting experience, either at a carrier or MGACIP designation or enrollment, is an asset
