Job summary

School District No. 91 Nechako Lakes seeks a Bus Driver to operate regular and scheduled routes from the Fort St. James Bus Shop.

Responsibilities include student liaison, safety checks, and routine maintenance. This is a continuing position starting as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will hold a BC Class 2 license with air endorsement, a valid first aid CPR certificate, and have six months of driving experience on appropriate vehicles, with a clean driving record and knowledge of safety

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• First aid and CPR certification mandatory.
• Defensive driving training or equivalent experience preferred.
• WHMIS certification and familiarity with safety procedures required.
• Six months of driving vehicles requiring BC Class 2 license with air endorsement in all seasons.
• Valid BC Driver's License Class 2 with air endorsement and an exemplary driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive regular and scheduled bus routes.
• Liaise with students, parents, peers and staff.
• Perform inspection and preventative maintenance on buses.
• Handle curricular and extra-curricular trips as needed.
