Job description

It is anticipated that a 0.3 FTE Permanent Library Technician position will be available immediately at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Dashwood. The initial schedule will be Tuesday to Thursday, 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The hourly rate of pay begins at $25.25 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining an effective library system that facilitates searching, cataloging, and inventory control
  • Assisting with library orientation for students under the direction of the classroom teacher
  • Working with individuals or small groups of students under the direction of a teacher to provide support with library resources
  • Assisting teachers and students to resolve minor problems with computer lab equipment located in the resource center
  • Preparing bibliographies and selecting resources materials to support classroom activities as requested by teachers
  • Conducting annual inventory of resource materials and equipment
  • Along with other staff members, supervising students while on yard duty
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a Library Technician and Information Diploma
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and administration
  • Strong computer skills, especially within Google Workspace
