Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of experience in an acute care setting.
• Must complete the Operating Room Assistant Course at the earliest opportunity.
• Ability to maintain concentration with frequent interruptions.

• Ensure operating room environment is safe and equipment functions properly.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare team members.

Skills

Knowledge of perioperative principles and aseptic techniques

Education

Minimum Grade 12 education

Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course
