Job summary

Halton Healthcare in Georgetown, Ontario, is seeking a Perioperative Nurse for a temporary full-time role of about six months. The position involves day and evening 7.5-hour shifts with on-call duties and rotates through surgical specialties.

The successful candidate must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, hold BCLS at hire, complete a postgraduate OR course, and have current OR experience; perioperative certification is an asset.

Qualifications

• Current registration and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current BCLS Certification required at time of hire.
• Successful completion of post graduate OR course required.
• Perioperative Certification or willingness to obtain considered an asset.
• Current OR experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good team player, ability to utilize critical thinking skills, positive caring attitude, flexible and willingness to learn.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of this position.
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
• Previous leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs functions of the Perioperative nurse.
• Scrub, circulate and assist the anaesthetist.
• Rotate throughout all surgical specialties and includes on call duties
