Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a Clinical Perfusionist for the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Job Description: The Clinical Perfusionist sets up, operates and maintains the heart‑lung machine and related equipment such as the intra‑aortic balloon pump, autotransfusion devices, ecmo and vads. The incumbent is responsible for routinely checking all hardware and maintains perfusion‑related equipment and disposables stock on an ongoing basis, carrying out blood gas, heparin concentration, activated clotting time, and thrombelastograph analysis as well as quality control and calibration of those analyzers. The incumbent also acquaints other health care professionals with the perfusionist’s handling and use of equipment. They initiate, participate in, and complete research projects in perfusion‑related areas. Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.
