Qualifications

Overview

You will be responsible for managing the perfusion of cardiopulmonary bypass cases, operating and maintaining heart-lung machines, blood analysis equipment and other accessory equipment so as to ensure safe conduct of surgery by the cardiovascular surgeon. For the Senior Perfusionist post, you will also assist the Chief Perfusionist in supervising and training of Perfusionists to support the surgeons in cardiovascular operations. Candidates with relevant qualification and experience will be considered for Senior Perfusionist post.

• Support the cardiovascular surgeon during procedures.
• For the Senior Perfusionist post, assist the Chief Perfusionist in supervising and training Perfusionists.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Recognised Degree, preferably majoring in Biological Sciences
• At least 1 to 2 years’ relevant experience in managing perfusions involving congenital (infant/paediatric), ischemic heart and vascular diseases
• Service-oriented, alert, observant and dexterous
• Candidates without perfusion management experience may be considered if they have at least 2 to 3 years of other work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
• Documented proof of vaccinations:
  • Measles (or Mumps, Measles and Rubella) vaccination or serological evidence of measles immunity
  • Diphtheria (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) vaccination taken within the preceding 10 years as required for all healthcare workers under the Healthcare Services Act (effective 3 January 2022).
