Job summary

A cancer diagnostics company in Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking a Per Diem Histotechnologist responsible for performing histological preparation of tissue specimens, including embedding, sectioning, and staining. The role involves ensuring quality control, collaborating with pathologists, and maintaining a compliant laboratory environment. Ideal candidates should have an Associate or Bachelor's degree in a lab science, with certification preferred, and 1-2 years of experience in histology. This position is on an as-needed basis, approximately 5 to 10 hours per month.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of histology laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience in embedding, sectioning, and staining human tissue.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine procedures, including embedding, microtomy, staining, and coverslipping.
• Operate and maintain histology laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Ensure accurate specimen labeling, documentation, and quality control.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment compliant with regulations.
• Collaborate with pathologists for accurate results.
