A cancer diagnostics company in Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking a Per Diem Histotechnologist responsible for performing histological preparation of tissue specimens, including embedding, sectioning, and staining. The role involves ensuring quality control, collaborating with pathologists, and maintaining a compliant laboratory environment. Ideal candidates should have an Associate or Bachelor's degree in a lab science, with certification preferred, and 1-2 years of experience in histology. This position is on an as-needed basis, approximately 5 to 10 hours per month.

The Per Diem Histotechnologist is responsible for performing all aspects of histological preparation of tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis. This includes embedding, sectioning, staining, and cover-slipping of tissue samples. The Histotech may also work alongside the pathologist during digital path review. The Histotech ensures the highest quality of tissue processing and slide preparation in accordance with established laboratory procedures and safety regulations.
