Placements24 is seeking a skilled Penetration Tester to bolster our security assessment team. The role focuses on identifying vulnerabilities through simulated attacks, then reporting findings with actionable remediation steps.

A hybrid work model offers flexibility between office and remote environments. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of hands-on penetration testing experience, strong scripting with Python or Bash, and familiarity with Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Nmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Cybersecurity or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of hands-on penetration testing experience.
• Proficiency with Metasploit, Burp Suite and Nmap.
• Experience scripting in Python or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Conduct penetration tests against web apps, networks, APIs, and cloud infra.
• Identify and document security vulnerabilities and potential risks.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and analysis with security tools.
• Develop detailed reports with findings, methodologies and remediation steps.
• Collaborate with dev and IT teams to patch vulnerabilities promptly.
• Stay updated on latest pen-testing techniques and threat actor methods.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and ethical Penetration Tester to join their security assessment team. This role involves proactively identifying vulnerabilities in the organization’s systems, networks, and applications through simulated cyber attacks. Working within a hybrid model, you will contribute to strengthening security defenses by providing detailed reports on findings and actionable recommendations for remediation. This is a crucial position for identifying and mitigating security risks before they can be exploited by malicious actors.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive penetration tests against web applications, networks, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Identify and exploit security vulnerabilities, documenting the impact and potential risks.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and analysis using various security tools.
• Develop detailed reports outlining findings, methodologies, and remediation recommendations.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to ensure timely and effective patching of vulnerabilities.
• Stay current with the latest penetration testing techniques, tools, and threat actor methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in penetration testing or offensive security.
• Proficiency with common penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap).
• Strong understanding of web application security, network protocols, and operating systems.
• Experience in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) for automating security tasks.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN, or CISSP are highly desirable.
