Kolk Farms Ltd. is actively seeking a qualified Beef Cattle Herdsperson to join our team in Iron Springs, Alberta. This full-time role involves daily herd health checks, feeding, vaccinations, maintaining records, and general farm duties.

You will work in a cooperative farm setting with emphasis on animal welfare, safety, and efficient cattle management. The start date is June 2026, with opportunities for on-the-job training and staff development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with cattle
• Ability to lift 50lbs+ and work outside in all weather
• Able to walk on varying terrain and maintain safety on farm

Responsibilities

• Pen checking, identifying ill or injured animals
• Providing treatment or care to livestock
• Maintaining digital records for cattle treatments and procedures
• Ensure cattle have access to feed and water daily
• Shipping, receiving, and vaccinating/processing cattle
• Facility and equipment maintenance
• Bedding and pen maintenance
• General cattle farm duties
• General cleaning and upkeep

Key Responsibilities

• Pen checking, identifying ill or injured animals

• Maintaining digital computer records for cattle treatments and procedures
• Ensure cattle have access to adequate feed and water daily
• Shipping, receiving, and vaccinating/processing cattle
• Facility/equipment maintenance

• General cattle farm duties
• General cleaning and upkeep duties
• Other duties as required
