Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a Peer Advocate to join the Specialized Community Services department in Terrace, BC. The role focuses on facilitating and promoting the engagement of people with lived experience of substance use in harm reduction policy and program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00, with a collaborative approach to working with NH partners to improve community health outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with people who have lived experience of substance use.
  • Ability to promote and facilitate engagement in policy and program development.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and promote meaningful engagement of peers in harm reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and partner organizations to support program development and evaluation.

Are you a Peer Advocate looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Specialized Community Services department.

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization the Peer Advocate is responsible for facilitating and promoting the meaningful engagement of people with lived experience of substance use (referred to as \"peers\") in harm reduction policy and program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation within Northern Health (NH) and partner organizations.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:30 to 17:00
