Job description

We believe kids learn best when they’re having fun. At Kids Creative Therapy, therapy is play-based and strength-based, parents are part of the team, and every plan is built around the child in front of us. We’re neurodiversity-affirming, and we’re here because we love this work.

Our Kelowna team of seven pediatric OTs works closely together, learns from each other and keeps growing through ongoing training. Now we’re adding our first speech-language pathologist: someone who shares that passion and wants to help shape what speech therapy looks like here. Families are already on our waitlist for speech support.

We’re part of Creative Therapy Consultants, an employee-owned BC rehab company founded in 1986, so you get the feel of a small clinic with the backing of an established company. We work with children with autism, developmental delays, ADHD, Down syndrome and other developmental needs.

Full-time or part-time, permanent | $80 to $92 per billed hour, by experience, plus 4% vacation pay (about $95K to $115K a year at a full caseload; salaried option available).

What you’ll do
  • Assess and treat speech sound disorders, language disorders, social communication, stuttering, feeding and literacy
  • Co-treat with our OTs where it helps the child, and share clients across disciplines
  • Coach parents so progress carries over at home
  • Work in clinic, in homes and community settings, and virtually, based on what suits you and the family
  • Write clear reports and home programs for families and funders (AFU, At Home Program, Jordan’s Principle)
What you get
  • Referrals from our waitlist to build your caseload, without marketing yourself: we handle intake, scheduling and billing
  • $2,500 signing bonus and relocation support
  • Extended health, dental and vision, plus paid counselling support
  • Education funding and a real say in your own professional development
  • Control of your schedule, caseload and vacation
  • Support of an interdisciplinary team, plus company retreats and socials
  • Kelowna: lake, vineyards, trails and skiing under an hour away
What you need
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registration, or eligibility for registration, with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
  • Registration, or eligibility, on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP)
  • Pediatric experience preferred; new grads with strong pediatric placements are welcome
  • Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle, criminal record check
