Job summary

A regional health authority in Sioux Lookout is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide assessment and programming for patients and their families. The successful candidate will work closely with community health professionals and provide care to clients aged 0-18. Key responsibilities include developmental assessments, programming development, and advocating for client needs. Extensive travel is required. Qualifications

  • Experience working in a First Nations community.
  • Ability to communicate in one of the First Nations dialects is an asset.
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check required.
  • Valid driver's license is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Provide developmental screenings and assessments.
  • Develop programming and intervention plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Provide family and client-centered care.
  • Work collaboratively with other health care professionals.
  • Prescribe specialized adaptive equipment.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients for services and support.
