Responsibilities
  • As a Pediatric Nurse you will provide specialized nursing care to infants, children and adolescents in various healthcare settings. Your role is essential in promoting the health and well-being of young patients and supporting their families through medical procedures and treatment plans.
  • Assess and monitor the health status of pediatric patients including taking vital signs, conducting physical exams and gathering medical histories.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on the unique needs of each child, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosages and patient safety.
  • Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options and preventative care, providing support and resources as needed.
  • Manage medical equipment and assist with diagnostic tests and procedures specific to pediatric patients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting observations, interventions and patient progress.
  • Advocate for the needs and rights of pediatric patients, ensuring a compassionate and supportive environment.
  • Stay informed about developments in pediatric nursing practices, treatments and healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; an Associates degree in Nursing (ADN) may be acceptable with relevant experience.
  • Active nursing license in the relevant state or region.
  • Previous experience in pediatric nursing or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills and a thorough understanding of pediatric healthcare.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children and their families.
