PEDIATRIC GASTROENTEROLOGIST-INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE
DIVISION OF GASTROENTEROLOGY, HEPATOLOGY AND NUTRITION

The Department of Pediatrics at CHEO, University of Ottawa is recruiting a full-time Gastroenterologist with a focus on Inflammatory Bowel Diseases within the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership potential and evidence of a strong track record in clinical or basic research in pediatric Crohn’s disease and/or ulcerative colitis.

The Division also provides a comprehensive array of clinical services in intestinal and liver disease and encompasses a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals consisting of nurses, dietitians, and a dedicated social worker.

The Department of Pediatrics is affiliated with Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), the CHEO Research Institute and the University of Ottawa. Taken together, the mission is to undertake leading research, provide quality pediatric medical education, and deliver outstanding patient care through the ages including newborns, children, and youth from Ottawa, as well as those from Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Nunavut and parts of Northern Ontario (population of approximately 1.8 million).

This full-time position will include an appointment to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. Research activities are supported by many resources provided through the CHEO Research Institute (www.cheoresearch.ca) and at the University of Ottawa. The CHEO Research Institute is the fastest growing RI in Canada, and the University of Ottawa is Canada’s largest bilingual institution of higher learning and research and ranks among the top faculties of medicine worldwide for research intensity and impact.
