CHEO in Ottawa is seeking a Registered Nurse Practical to provide nursing care to pediatric patients, assess plans, and collaborate with physicians and the care team. The role requires pediatric experience, current Ontario nursing registration, BCLS, medication administration training, and strong communication and teamwork.

Formación

• Pediatric experience (minimum 2 years) preferred.
• Experience in ambulatory clinics preferred.
• Current registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario (Essential).
• Current BCLS (Essential).
• Medication administration course (Essential).
• Knowledge of safe medication administration and reconciliation (Essential).
• Excellent interpersonal skills (Essential).
• Ability to participate as an active health-care team member (Essential).
• Effective oral and written communication (Essential).
• Willingness to self-evaluate (Essential).
• Commitment to continuous Quality Improvement (Essential).
• Aseptic technique understanding (Essential).
• Maintain clinic throughput (Essential).

Responsabilidades

• Assess the patient and collect clinical data, vitals, and status.
• Assist the team with procedures and monitor patients pre/post.
• Administer medications within scope of practice.
• Receive calls from parents and triage appropriately.
• Coordinate care with home care and other professionals.
• Provide written or oral discharge instructions to patients and families.
• Offer emotional support to patients and families.
• Maintain documentation per CHEO policies.
• Maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
• Order and restock supplies; check expiry dates.
• Check resuscitation cart.
