Job description

Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Inc. is looking to fill the position of Payroll Technician. This is a full-time year-round position, reporting to the Payroll Coordinator and the Resort Area Manager. The ideal candidate will have previous payroll experience, be an excellent communicator, have a great attitude and be a team player. Key Responsibilities
  • Process a 150–400 employee hourly, bi-weekly payroll cycle
  • Update and maintain employee payroll packages
  • Collect, verify, and reconcile timesheets and payroll data
  • Submit monthly updates to the Union regarding employee status changes, addresses, and SIN information
  • Prepare accounts payable for the Union and submit to Head Office
  • Deliver pay stubs to Managers for distribution
  • Prepare bi-weekly seniority reports for HR
  • Prepare weekly HR reports detailing hired, rehired, and terminated employees
  • Ensure compliance with the Union Collective Agreement, RCR policies, BC Employment Standards, and benefit requirements
  • Monitor year-end reporting and produce required documents accurately and on time
  • Respond to HRDC/Service Canada, CRA, Union, and other government requests for payroll information
  • Provide support and backup to Managers and Human Resources as required
  • Develop, implement, and oversee payroll and time-capture programs, procedures, and best practices
  • Oversee the collection and validation of employee benefit enrollment forms
  • Assist with year-end processes, including preparation of T4s
  • Liaise with departments, employees, and managers to resolve payroll-related issues
  • Maintain a hands‑on approach to payroll administration to remain current with evolving procedures
  • Create and maintain accurate and confidential payroll files
  • Train and support management in the use of ADP ezLabor, ensuring accurate daily punches and timely approval of electronic timecards
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5–7 years of payroll and benefits experience
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Certification in Payroll Management (CPM designation preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy
  • ADP experience considered an asset
  • Strong work ethic and collaborative team player

Compensation And Benefits
