Are you a meticulous and autonomous Payroll Specialist looking for a dynamic and people-first environment? A well-established mid-sized manufacturing company based in Montreal is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage a payroll of 400 employees across Canada (multi-province) and the United States, within a multi-union environment.

Responsibilities
  • Process and oversee bi-weekly full‑cycle payroll for 400 employees (Canada + US)
  • Handle both unionized and non-unionized payroll, in line with multiple collective agreements
  • Manage government remittances, journal entries, and year‑end reconciliations
  • Prepare year‑end tax documents (T4, RL‑1, W‑2, etc.)
  • Work closely with the HR and accounting teams
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation
Qualifications
  • Strong experience in multi‑province and U.S. payroll (required)
  • Excellent command of year‑end processes and related compliance requirements
  • Solid understanding of collective agreements and manufacturing environments
  • Experience with UKG (strong asset)
  • Highly detail‑oriented, discreet, and self‑motivated
  • Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)
