As a payroll specialist, you’ll help our clients leverage ADP's exceptional business solutions so they can focus on what matters most to them – growing their business.

In this role, you will join a high‑performing team in ADP’s Human Resources Outsourcing department that provides support and guidance in response to a wide variety of payroll and tax‑related questions and issues presented by Client Payroll Administrators.

Every day, you will utilize multiple tools and resources to develop accurate, comprehensive, friendly responses to clients’ inquiries regarding payroll practices and tax considerations. Your #1 goal is to help clients. The questions will vary but your services will continue to be interesting and our top‑ranked training will help you set up for success.

What you’ll do
  • Manage client payroll. You’ll be responsible and fully accountable for the payroll and audit functions of multiple clients. You will also oversee scheduling and running the assigned client payrolls by following SOPs. You’ll balance respective payrolls based on the year‑end calendar and remit all Third‑Party Remittances by due dates, completing all year‑end balancing and reporting.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert. You’ll provide critical, accurate statutory information to clients in payroll area, such as tax filing. Use knowledge bases, resource materials, internal tools and processes to ensure productivity and service excellence and recommend best practices.
  • Problem‑solver. When needed, you’ll work with internal technical support, several production units, and other ADP Service hubs to find resolutions. You’ll also provide feedback and suggestions on products, issues, processes, and procedures to improve efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Develop knowledge. You’ll maintain NPI (National Payroll Institute) designation and attend required departmental trainings as well as demonstrate proficiency in learning.
Required qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years Canadian payroll processing experience
  • Minimum 5 years client service experience
  • Advanced internet and MS Office skills required (Word/Excel)
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with ability to translate findings into actionable solutions/processes
  • Excellent client service skill
Preferred qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education preferred, or equivalent experience in administration, client, service/HR.
  • Candidate working towards or has National Payroll Institute (NPI) certification (PCP, CPM) – we reimburse tuition and membership.
