Payroll Analyst

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Analyst to oversee payroll execution within Workday, ensuring accuracy from gross to net processing. This role involves compliance and anomaly detection, parallel payroll testing, and collaboration with subject matter experts to reduce validation workloads.

Responsibilities
  • Execute payrolls in Workday, ensuring accurate processing and reconciliation from gross to net.
  • Apply compliance knowledge to identify taxation or payroll anomalies early in the process.
  • Manage initial execution of parallel payroll runs, comparing results against legacy systems for accuracy.
  • Perform detailed quality assurance by questioning discrepancies and confirming compliance with taxation rules.
  • Collaborate with payroll SMEs, surfacing issues and insights from project testing.
  • Navigate Workday payroll confidently in complex environments with high-volume unionized workforces.
  • Apply skills across various industries, focusing on the complexity of payroll volume and structure.
  • Handle payrolls for large, complex employee populations, such as unionized environments.
  • Participate in integration testing between Time Tracking and Payroll modules.
  • Analyze payroll data and validate findings in collaboration with the payroll operations team.
  • Support data validation and process documentation for the project team.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in running payroll within Workday.
  • Experience in high-volume payroll environments (1500+ employees).
  • Strong communication skills.

Work Environment

This is a remote role, with occasional requirements to be on-site for project meetings and testing. Candidates can be located in any province, as long as they work within Eastern Time Zone hours. The standard workweek is 37.5 hours, typically from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required during peak project phases, subject to prior approval.
