Work Schedule
- Day shift with occasional overtime and weekend work
- Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and accuracy
Duties
- Process weekly and monthly payroll with strict accuracy and timelines
- Manage bonuses, off-cycle payments, and year-end activities (T4s, government remittances)
- Support and maintain the Kronos timekeeping system
- Administer garnishments and ROEs per legislative requirements
- Assist associates at the payroll help desk and resolve inquiries
- Prepare payroll documentation and support pension and benefits activities, letters of employment and third-party income requests, etc.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- College diploma or university degree in Business Administration or Finance
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or willingness to obtain
- Minimum 2 years of experience processing high-volume payroll
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Kronos
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across all levels
- Solid understanding of payroll processes, principles, and applicable legislation
- High degree of accuracy and strong numerical aptitude
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Preferred Experience
- PeopleSoft HRMS experience
- National Payroll Institute (NPI) designation, or willingness to work towards.
- Knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
- Ability to facilitate or present to large groups
