Translational Research in Oncology (TRIO) is a global academic clinical research organization dedicated to advancing translational cancer research in the clinical trial setting. Our passionate team is committed to providing cancer treatments of the future to the world of today.

TRIO is seeking a Payments Coordinator to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this position will be home-based in Edmonton, Canada. This is a full-time 6-month temporary contract with possibility of extension.

Responsibilities
  • Perform payment reconciliations at mandated intervals in line with site contracts and visit data.
  • Review and investigate Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs) and CTA amendments to ensure payments are made according to the documented payment terms and schedule. Escalate discrepancies to the line manager or the appropriate project team member as needed.
  • Accurately set up the proposed payees and budget schedule.
  • Distribute payments and remittance information to investigators and institutions globally in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Raise payment issues or delays appropriately.
  • Work with sponsor systems and applications as required by the trial.
  • Collaborate with TRIO departments such as Project Management, IT, Finance, Legal, and Contracts to ensure payment queries are resolved.
  • Assist IT and other members of the set‑up team to ensure that the contract‑specific budget schedule and terms can be facilitated via the Clinical Trial Management System.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all investigator‑related queries on assigned trials.
  • Maintain positive, strong working relationships with clients, vendors, and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with investigative site personnel and/or TRIO or Sponsor Clinical Project Managers regarding payment inquiries and manage their expectations accordingly.
  • Host training sessions and meetings relating to Clinical Trial Management System processes and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an administrative or financial role, preferably involving payment processing, data management, or clinical research
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile financial reports
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including intermediate to advanced Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Works well independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country.

Pay Range: $55,000.00 to $61,500.00 - Salary to be influenced (or determined) by the education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
