About the Role

Patient Watch Officers provide supportive, continuous observation for patients who require additional monitoring to ensure their safety and well-being. This role is ideal for individuals who are calm, attentive, professional, and comfortable working within a healthcare environment.

Schedule & Deployment

Full‑time on‑call (Pw only) with a 7‑on / 7‑off rotation, alternating days and nights. Primary deployment is at Lacombe Hub; additional deployments within the Central Zone may be required.

Primary deployment locations include

• Lacombe
• Red Deer
• Ponoka
• Wetaskiwin
• Rimbey
• Rocky Mountain House
• Sylvan Lake
• Innisfail

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one monitoring for patients requiring additional support
• Maintain patient safety and report changes in behaviour or condition
• Communicate clearly with nursing staff and hospital teams
• Follow all site and privacy protocols
• Complete basic documentation as required
• Maintain a professional and compassionate presence

Work Environment

This role takes place in hospital settings and involves working with patients who may be experiencing stress, confusion, or emotional difficulty, and individuals requiring extra observation for their safety in a fast‑paced, team‑based healthcare environment.

On‑Call Expectations

• 7 on / 7 off rotation
• Alternating day and night sets
• Must be available for short‑notice call‑ins
• Overnight and weekend availability is required
• Flexibility to support other sites when necessary
