Job summary

William Osler Health System in Ontario is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Assistant for Diagnostic Imaging across multiple sites. The role supports CT and MRI prep and post‑exam care within an inter‑professional team, with days/evenings/nights schedule and a casual employment model.

Qualifications include a medical laboratory assistant program with venipuncture, health sciences background, venipuncture experience, and knowledge of imaging procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of certified medical laboratory assistant program or equivalent program including venipuncture
• Health sciences background with preference to medical radiation technology experience
• Medical terminology
• Venipuncture experience required
• CPR certification an asset
• Knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures, terminology and workflow including CT and MRI an asset
• Knowledge of diagnostic imaging computer systems an asset (PACS, RIS, HIS)
• MRI safety and radiation safety practices an asset
• Previous training on safe lifting and transferring techniques an asset
• Computer knowledge
• Multi-tasking ability/critical thinking/problem solving
• Team player/excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Organizational skills, able to prioritize
• Ability to work in a fast paced inter‑professional team environment

The Patient Care Assistant will perform duties related to the preparation and post exam care of patients for CT and MRI studies.

Accountabilities:

• Ensuring patient completion of pre‑screening documents
• Intravenous insertion where indicated
• Providing instructions to patients such as waiting or changing into a gown
