POSITION SUMMARY

The Tapestry Church is a church consisting of four campuses, located in Richmond, Vancouver and Coquitlam, BC. We are a multi-ethnic, multi-generational church centered in Christ. The Tapestry Richmond, one of these four congregations, worships at 9280 No. 2 Road in Richmond, BC. The Pastor of Children’s Ministry (Tap Kids Pastor) provides vision, leadership, pastoral support, organization and administration for the Children’s Ministry of the Tapestry Church – Richmond Campus.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities and expectations are representative of full-time employment at 40 hours per week.

  • Provide an overarching vision and goal for the TapKids ministry.
  • Plan and ensure delivery of children’s programs, including Sunday School, Nursery, Kids’ sermon in the worship gatherings, and Awana.
  • Teach lessons and lead activities in children’s programs.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of approximately 80 volunteers across ministry areas (Sunday School, Nursery, Check-In, Awana); and maintain the volunteer schedule.
  • Communicate with parents, welcome new families, and prepare monthly newsletters.
  • Coordinate special events such as volunteer training, appreciation events, end-of-term celebrations, and parent gatherings.
  • Lead meetings, training sessions, volunteer briefings, and prayer times.
  • Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and ministry supplies.
  • Manage the TapKids budget Implement the Safe Church policy.
QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates will be reliable, self-motivated, and able to create, develop and implement effective ministry strategies for the overall spiritual growth of children, families and the church. They will have a theologically sound understanding of the Bible and will be able to teach God’s Word in an engaging way. The candidate will have completed or be in the process of completing formal theological training at either the Bachelor’s or Master’s level. Additionally, this person will have strong computer, administrative, organizational and communication skills and have a proven track record in recruiting, training and building teams of teachers, leaders and volunteers. Reports to: Campus Pastor – Richmond

COMPENSATION

$55,000 to $62,000 annually plus benefits. NOTE: compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.
