Job Description:

The Pastor, under the direction of the elders, will provide biblical (expository) preaching, teaching, discipling, and counseling to the members of the congregation to apply God’s word in daily life. Responsibilities include:

• Provide leadership training and oversight for Chinese-speaking members to build and develop their spiritual gifts and cultivate servanthood.
• Assist in the oversight of day-to-day administrative operation of the church office, including preparing weekly bulletins, fliers, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Plan and execute weekly ministries and worship services.
• Shepherd and disciple adults and families of the congregation to be effective kingdom citizens.
• Assist in carrying out the youth program, training up the youth to have a personal relationship with God and a solid foundation in God’s word.
• Visit members in the hospital, care facilities, and homes.
• Promote evangelistic outreach through enabling church members.
• Participate and serve in various church services/programs as the needs arise.
• Promote unity and facilitate communication between the Chinese and the English congregations and develop close ministry relationships.

Qualifications for the position include:

• Being a born-again believer with a clear pastoral calling from God.
• Exhibiting evidence of Christian character and servant-leadership in both work and home life.
• Leading an exemplary life before the staff and the congregation that encourages and inspires them to walk with God.
• Maintaining a spiritually balanced life through prayer, Bible study, rest, worship, and financial stewardship.
• Demonstrating a strong work ethic and personal integrity.
• Subscribing to CBCHC’s Statement of Faith, Mission, and Vision.
• Being fluent in Mandarin Chinese and capable of teaching and preaching in Chinese.
• Holding a degree from an accredited Bible college/Seminary, preferably an M.Div. degree or above.
• HAVING prior experience in pastoral ministry is preferred.
• Having multi-cultural and multi-generational ministry experience is a plus.
