Job description

Parts Technician - Temporary

Location : Fort McMurray, AB

Diversified Transportation has an immediate opening for an Parts Technician based in Fort McMurray. This is a full-time temporary position lasting approximately 1 - 3 months with the possibility of extension. The shift is Monday through Friday from 7 : 30 am - 4 : 00 pm.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure parts, commodities and shop supplies are kept at required levels to maintain Diversified's diverse fleet consisting of a Motorcoach Division of over 400 Prevost and MCI models, a Yellow Bus Division of over 300 Thomas, International CE and 3300+ models, and over 50 light duty vehicles of Sprinters & GMC 1500 models
  • Process all parts enquiries including coordinating and charging out to work orders when required
  • Act as liaison between the shop and the supplier in sourcing and purchasing required parts
  • Be responsible for coordinating returns, credits and billing of parts
  • Maintain part warehouse inventory and ensure accuracy in Web Fleet Assist (WFA)
  • Undertake cycle counts of inventory
  • Coordinate the shipping and receiving of all parts, tools and commodities
  • Distribute parts on back order and prepare requisition orders
  • Ensure cleanliness of Parts Room and work area
  • Be aware of Health & Safety issues and ensure all staff are able to work in a safe manner, reporting issues, as necessary
Requirements
  • Registered Parts Technician or Journeyperson Parts Technician credentials or a minimum of three years in a similar position
  • Web Fleet Assist (WFA) experience an asset
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office, Access and Outlook
  • At least 1 year of parts distribution experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must have clear criminal record and be able to pass a pre-access drug & alcohol screen
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Must have the abilities to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with shop staff and trades
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse workforce considered an asset
