Job description

Paired is a global staffing and recruiting agency that pairs remote work with top-tier talent. We admire the importance of innovative social media strategies and are committed to connecting talented individuals with great companies that need their unique skills. Our mission is to provide great jobs to gifted people, regardless of location.

🚀 Our client is a globally recognized storytelling movement on a mission to inspire people to seek discomfort, live fully, and forge deeper connections. What began as a daring 30‑day challenge among friends in Montreal has blossomed into an international community of millions. Today, they produce emotionally charged videos, podcasts, merchandise, and live events—all rooted in the belief that life’s most meaningful experiences happen outside your comfort zone. Their YouTube channel alone commands over 9 million subscribers and brings in millions of views each month. They've partnered with notable figures, including Will Smith in a streaming‑event stunt that reached over 100million viewers, and have created transformative content like documentaries and narrative-driven podcasts.

Role Overview:

As our Thumbnail Designer, you’ll be responsible for creating 1–3 thumbnails per week for our IRL YouTube channels. You'll work closely with our creators and production team to craft emotionally resonant, curiosity-driven visuals that drive clicks and views.

This role goes far beyond aesthetics—it’s about telling a story, evoking emotion, and tapping into the psychology of what makes someone have to click. Think of each thumbnail as a mini movie poster designed to spark instant intrigue.

** Role is open to all LATAM **

Your responsibilities:
  • Design 1–3 eye-catching, high-converting thumbnails each week
  • Develop original visual concepts that align with the video’s message and emotional hook
  • Use advanced Photoshop and photo manipulation skills to create realistic, powerful composites
  • Collaborate with the production team to plan and capture key visual assets—especially facial expressions, framing, and lighting
  • Keep all design assets organized for future use and efficient workflows
  • Stay up to date on YouTube trends, best practices, and evolving design styles
  • Analyze performance data and tweak thumbnail concepts to maximize CTR
  • Occasionally rework past thumbnails for A/B testing and improved performance
Qualifications:
  • Available to work Part-Time.
  • 1+ years of experience designing YouTube thumbnails (preferably for IRL or storytelling-based content)
  • Strong visual storytelling skills with an intuitive sense for emotion, tension, and curiosity
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Comfortable collaborating across creative teams (creators, editors, producers)
  • Not afraid to take bold creative swings, learn from feedback, and iterate
  • Attention to detail that borders on obsession—lighting, facial micro-expressions, contrast, color grading, and framing all matter
Nice to have:
  • Experience working with IRL, travel, or documentary-style creators
  • Familiarity with CTR data and A/B testing strategies
  • A title-writer’s brain—you think like a viewer and know what makes them click
  • Ability to shoot or direct thumbnail photo sessions
