Zusammenfassung

SOAR Community Services in Brantford, ON is seeking a Part Time Withdrawal Management Worker to join our Withdrawal Management and Treatment Services team. You will monitor withdrawal symptoms, administer medications as prescribed, support service and discharge plans, and deliver brief, solution-focused interventions in the early stages of recovery.

This role supports client safety and comfort, participates in psychoeducational groups, and assists with meals and light cleaning to help facility

Qualifikationen

• College diploma or certificate in the Human/Social Services field.
• Minimum of 2-years combined education/experience in substance use, concurrent disorders and/or mental health settings, with residential withdrawal management experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Able to manage frequent exposure to vicarious traumatic stress.

Aufgaben

• Conduct telephone screening of clients to determine program eligibility.
• Support client intake into the program.
• Monitor withdrawal symptoms, administer and document client medications, and alert medical professionals to any issues which impact client’s safe withdrawal.
• Support implementation of client safety, support and/or transition plans.
• Deliver brief, solution-focused interventions.
• Provide individual or group psychoeducation to enhance client motivation to change and support recovery.
• Confidently redirect client behaviour when required, to ensure a physically and emotionally safe space for all.
• Be responsive and compassionate to clients within the program.
• Support safe and effective facility functioning through light cleaning and meal preparation.
