Job summary

Cineplex Entertainment LP in Calgary seeks a Back of House Supervisor to lead kitchen operations and ensure high-quality menu execution. You will supervise staff, uphold safety and sanitation standards, and coordinate line checks and recipe requirements to maintain consistent service.

The role requires 3–5 years of kitchen experience, a secondary diploma, and flexibility for evenings and weekends. Post-secondary culinary education and Smart Serve certification are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Secondary School Diploma required.
  • 3-5 years' restaurant kitchen experience.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Post-Secondary in Culinary Arts or Hospitality preferred.
  • Experience in high-volume food program preferred.
  • Provincial Smart Serve certification where applicable.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a team.

Responsibilities

  • Leading kitchen staff to create and prepare menu items in an efficient manner.
  • Supporting the kitchen with ensuring the safe and healthy preparation of meals and sanitation techniques at all times to avoid cross-contamination and the spoiling of food and beverages.
  • Training and coaching of kitchen employees.
  • Reporting on any repairs or maintenance required for kitchen appliances and equipment.
  • Assisting in completion of all line checks, cleaning duty rotation, and temperature logs.
  • Establishing, implementing and communicating menu recipe requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate log of food and beverage waste.
  • Ensuring preparation and cooking stations are well stocked.

What you will do:

Our Back of House (BOH) Supervisors are an integral part of the team who provide an exceptional dining experience to each and every guest. The BOH Supervisor is responsible for supporting the kitchen leadership in coordinating, supervising and directing all aspects of kitchen operations, while maintaining high quality menu options and service levels.
