Job summary

Moores Clothing for Men is seeking a Retail Store Tailor-Alterations in Victoria. You will greet customers, handle special requests, and apply alterations to ensure garments fit and look great.

Use strong tailoring knowledge to mark, alter, and press items while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction. You will contribute by answering questions, keeping the shop organized, and supporting management and teammates in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Formal tailoring training preferred.
• Experience as a tailor for menswear highly preferred.
• Good technical skill with sewing equipment.
• Strong communication skills and team attitude.
• Proficiency in alterations of men’s tailored clothing.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with special requests during the selling process.
• Apply alterations knowledge to mark, alter, and press garments.
• Ensure proper fit of garments for customers.
• Answer customer questions and provide guidance.
• Mark garments for tailoring and press clothing as needed.
• Maintain open dialogue with store management.
• Help fellow team members and keep the tailor shop organized.

RETAIL STORE TAILOR-ALTERATIONS

Provide positive input and valuable assistance throughout the entire customer experience to ensure that each guest is satisfied and receives a final product that is customized to look attractive, fit well, and feel just right.

How You’ll Contribute

You’ll have the opportunity to assist in the selling process by greeting, interacting with, and responding to customers regarding any special requests they may have. In addition, you’ll use your extensive knowledge of alterations and passion for providing excellent service to expertly mark, alter, and press the garments our customers select.

• Ensure the proper fit of garments
• Answer customer questions
• Mark garments for tailoring
• Press garments
• Maintain an open dialogue with management
• Help other team members
• Help to keep the tailor shop clean and organized
• Make sure that customers are properly sized
• Offer new wardrobe ensemble suggestions

What It Takes

Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.50/hr

We take into consideration an individual's skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
