Job summary

Pet Valu Canada Inc. in Dartmouth, NS is seeking a Sales Associate to help Pet Parents with nutrition and product solutions. You will join a team of Pet Experts dedicated to pet welfare and customer service.

Responsibilities include serving customers, stocking shelves, processing deliveries, and maintaining a clean store. No formal education requirement is stated; training will be provided, and lifting heavy bags is expected. Weekend availability is preferred.

Job Overview

As a Sales Associate you will use your knowledge and experience to help Pet Parents find the right nutrition and other solutions for their pets. Duties

• Serving customers - both at the till and in regards to product and pet concerns

Interested applicants should meet the following requirements

• Available typical retail business hours, including evenings and weekends - including holidays if required
• Pet experience is a huge asset. Pet knowledge is mandatory.
• Customer service experience is an asset but you MUST have great people skills, we pride ourselves on our customer service.
• Be able to lift 45lbs repeatedly. Deliveries come at least twice a week and they consist of lots of large heavy bags that must be moved from outside and neatly put on the shelf.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work

All employees will receive in store training. You will also be responsible for completing a mandatory online certification program. Please consider if you have any severe allergies to pets. We frequently have animals in the building. You will also come into contact with all sorts of proteins while stocking shelves (eg. fish, peanuts)
