Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of the Security Department , this Part-time Security Officerposition is responsible for the safety and protection of team members, guests, the facility (both internal and external) and the company's assets while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.


Key Accountabilities


  • Monitors, documents and prepares statements and / or reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons or activities

  • Enforces restricted access by unauthorized persons

  • Observes transactions, pulls, fills, transfers, etc.

  • Escorts cash / cash equivalents

  • Tags and reports found property; transfers items to Lost and Found

  • Conducts regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior as directed

  • Escorts guests and team members as directed

  • Performs identification checks

  • Refers disputes to the Supervisor, Security

  • Performs crowd control as directed

  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments

  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members

  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations

  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed


Education and Qualifications


  • High School Diploma

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience

  • Food Safety Certificate

  • Guard Force Training an asset

  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 Certificate an asset

  • Must be willing to recertify every 3 years for Use of Force Certification

  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
