Qualifications

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario is required.

Position: Security Guard

City: Dawn Euphemia, Ontario

Status: Part-Time

Hours: Weekends: 1900 – 0700

Pay Rate: $ 18.35/hour for training then once completed $19.67/hour

Job Summary: Working on assigned shifts, you will perform security patrols on foot and in a marked vehicle. You will control access and egress to the property by signing in all visitors and enforce site policies. You will be required to write daily reports and investigate non-routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. You will monitor CCTV cameras and perform regular virtual patrols. You may be responsible to complete security patrols on foot through the parking lot and exterior property to deter wildlife.

Key responsibilities
  • Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security.
  • Perform regular security checks of the property including parking areas, entrances, exits, outbuildings and other designated and specified areas.
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
  • Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
  • Responsible for remote access control for 6+ locations in Ontario
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed.
  • Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.
  • Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
  • Aid employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
  • Provide orientation and administer safety course exam for new/returning personnel.
  • Ensure safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
  • Ability to utilize computer and various software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and two-way radios. Must be willing to learn proprietary access control and CCTV applications.
  • This position requires an interview with the Client Service Manager and/or the Site Supervisor
  • *Security personnel at this location are deemed first responders for emergency situations
Prerequisites
  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Valid G Driver’s License
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports such as security breaches, facility safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency services such as police, fire and ambulance personnel as required.
  • *Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred but not required
