Job summary

A school board in Northwestern Ontario is seeking a 0.33 FTE Part-Time Long Term Occasional Teacher with intermediate or senior qualifications. Qualifications

KPDSB serves approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala. Qualifications
  • OCT Certificate required; intermediate/senior education and manufacturing/auto technology qualifications or experience preferred.
  • Understanding of current educational philosophies, teaching and learning strategies involved in the Ontario Curriculum, Continuing Education, Adult Education Credit Strategy, Achieving Excellence, and the Renewed Math Strategy.
  • Knowledge of experiential learning including Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Programs, Outdoor Education, Dual Credit Programs, and Career Studies.
  • Familiarity with First Nations, Inuit and Métis Cultures within the region and experience working with First Nation, Métis and Inuit students, their families and communities.
  • Experience as a staff developer, lead learner and facilitator.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cooperatively with staff, administration and educational partners.
