Job summary

First Student is hiring part-time School Bus Drivers to start mornings with student pickups and transport them home in the afternoon. No nights, weekends, holidays, or summers required, with potential field trips and extra hours.

No experience is necessary; we provide expert training and guidance to help you become a safe and professional First Student driver. A $2,000 new hire bonus is available for Class 1 or Class 2 licensed drivers, plus a $1,000 training completion bonus.

Qualifications

• Part-time schedule with summers off.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have Class 5F license for at least 1 year.
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or summers required.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading; assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus and ensure student safety.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; check brakes, lights, tires, and exits.
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Follow all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff and dispatch about delays or behaviors.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service during routes.
